News, Statistics and Trends
STOP PRESS - 21 July 2008:
The Home Office have released statistics revealing the number of animal experiments reached over 3.2 Million in 2007, their highest level since 1991. An appalling failure for the government who have overseen a steady increase in the use of animals, year on year, for the past 6 years.
The Latest Statistics [pdf] confirm that Labour have not lived up to their pre-election promises [pdf] of 1997. For an overview of increases year on year, see the Time Series Tables [pdf].
Analysis of the latest figures is provided in Issues and Trends.
