The use of animals in universities continues to outstrip other sectors. In 2010, this sector alone performed 48% of animal experiments in the UK. An increase of 10% on the previous year, which is probably due to an increase in research using GM animals.
In the Commercial sector, the number of procedures fell by 4% on the previous year. |
