To the untrained eye, this might look like a rather ordinary patch of grass in the middle of a big city. However, a small group of students at the Bucharest Veterinary Faculty saw something different.
The Faculty has three horses in its care, but the facilities for exercise are limited. An enterprising group of students have devised a project whereby the horses will enjoy more freedom of movement. As well as
enhancing the horses' lifestyle, the project aims to raise awareness of good
horsemanship and horse welfare issues.
The students approached the University authorities, and were given
permission to build two paddocks on the campus, one with sand and one with a
little grazing land.
