Naturewatch is a non-profit animal welfare campaigning organisation.
Our aims are to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals and to
conduct and support the publication of information concerning animals
in furtherance of their welfare. We work strictly within the
democratic system and condemn all illegal activity, and believe that an
evolutionary approach is better than a revolutionary one.
Our main campaigns are on animal experiments (in particular those which
cause brain damage to primates), badger baiting, and live transport across
Europe. Our charitable wing, the Naturewatch Foundation, is involved in pioneering
work in Eastern Europe, particularly in Lithuania and Ukraine. We also promote World Animal Day.

Joining our mailing list
If you like what we do and would like to help, please send us an email with your postal address so we can mail you our regular campaign briefings.
Some of our previous projects...
European Livestock - working in Europe to improve animal welfare standards during transport and at markets.
Australian Live Export - we joined with
Australian group PACAT in protesting against the live export of sheep to the Middle East.
Royal Commission - we campaigned for a Royal
Commission on animal experiments. The Government dragged their feet, and were saved by a
select committee from the House of Lords.
Boycott L'Oreal - In June 2000 we sent all
Naturewatch supporters a ‘Boycott L’Oréal’ leaflet listing the brand names of all the products
made by L'Oréal and their subsidiary companies
Help the Horses - We focussed on the
live transport of horses from Eastern to Southern Europe for the meat trade. |
