Naturewatch Foundation is holding its second online celebrity memorabilia
auction for World Animal Day. Bidding for the first batch of items ends on
World Animal Day (4 October), but new items will be added on a regular basis
until early December. Last year's auction raised over £4,000 which helped to
rebuild the SPA-SOS cattery in the Ukraine and to equip a wildlife rescue
vehicle in Lithuania. This year's proceeds will continue to fund our work in
Eastern Europe.
As with last year, celebrities from all walks of life have been generous
with their donations. We have signed CDs from Elton John, Phil Collins,
Katie Melua and Simply Red; a beautiful coral and silver necklace from
actress Rula Lenska; autographed books by best-selling authors such as Helen
Fielding, Nick Hornby, Jilly Cooper and Martin Amis; costumes and scripts
from tv shows; and numerous signed photographs, ranging from sports
personalities such as Ellen Macarthur, Gary Lineker, Sally Gunnell and
Jackie Stewart, to actors such as Ewan McGregor, Jenny Seagrove, Bill Nighy
and Zoe Wanamaker. To place your bid, go here; to check out the World Animal Day website go here.
