Naturewatch SupportersCruelty Free Cleaning

Sadly, there is no ban on the testing of household products on animals, and while some companies do offer cruelty free household cleaning products, others still buy into ingredients that necessitate further animal testing. So, if you've got spring cleaning in mind, check out these cruelty free cleaning companies, tried and tested by Naturewatch supporters and each covered by the Fixed Cut-Off Date Policy.

If you have a cruelty free household cleaning product that you love using and simply couldn't be without, then please send an e-mail about it to dawn@naturewatch.org and include information about where it’s available and why you love using it. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Caroline Astonish Cleaning Products

FCOD 1995

"I've just bought a caravan, never towed before in my life and so it's taking a bit of getting used to! While equipping it, I was in 'The Range' looking for some storage boxes when I came across a shelf full of Astonish cleaning products suitable for both inside and outside my caravan. I'm using the multi-surface cleaner with pure orange oil and it's great - it leaves a lovely fresh orange smell behind. They really are super cleaning products and, as I found, are often in stores you may not have thought of looking in! 'The Range' has about 40 stores throughout the UK." Caroline, Gloucestershire.

Maddie Lilly's Eco Clean

FCOD 1988

"Lilly's is as Lilly says..... LUVLI! I have been using Lilly's products for a few months now and I can't imagine using anything else. Her washing up liquid, surface cleaner, floor cleaner and toilet cleaner are all gorgeous and so gentle. They really work but without all the harsh fumes, nasty residues or dangerous chemicals. The use of Eucalylptus, Lemon, Orange and Tea Tree Oil is amazing. Lilly's is completely cruelty free in how it's made and wont hurt nature or animals when it washes down your sink and leaves your home. I would highly recommend Lilly's Eco Clean - you just have to try it!" Maddie, Eire.

Michelle Astonish's Orange Household Paste Cleaner

FCOD 1995

"I love Astonish's Cream Cleaner with Orange Fresh smell. It cleans really well and because of the orange, it doesn't stink of bleach. I buy it from 'Everythings-a-Pound' in Winchester, which sells a good range of other Astonish products, including hand wash, car cleansers and limescale removers." — Michelle, Eastleigh.
